Happy New Years Eve Eve!

Hey everyone! I hope 'chya all had the most epic Christmas you have ever had! I know I did!

My mom picked out some really gorgeous flowers for the table. By now the roses look kinda sad, but everything else is fine. I took a picture of the table on Christmas day so you can see it in all of its glory.
And below is my spectacular Christmas lunch. It contains Yorkshire puddings, Brussels sprouts, carrots, this totally mind blowing cranberry and cheese pie, stuffing, turkey with cranberry sauce I made (I got the picture to work too! :D), and of course gravy. We also had the pesto rolls I made and the cranberry sauce went into the pie.
.

Here's a picture of the cranberry sauce I made! It was super easy to make.
I thought it was like making jam, but no. It  used 250 grams of cranberries, 100 grams of sugar and 100ml of orange juice. Just warm up a little orange juice and some sugar (70% caster/superfine 30% light brown). Boil it and then put the cranberries in and simmer it until the cranberries are soft but they still have their shape. Let it cool, then put it in a jar and eat within a week.

A couple days ago we installed this great computer animation software called  Blender. It is, for one free. It is complicated but even if you're new to the computer animation world like me you should still try it, and they have some great tutorials to get you started.  I installed Blender 2.6 just 8 days after it was launched, so it doesn't have ALL the tutorials possible but they've got a few.
It doesn't just do animation though.  There are projects you can do to make incredible realistic pieces of art. In a couple months when I get to know it better I am going to take on the project of making some balloons.
I hope you don't read this and laugh and say: balloons? Balloons are so easy, why not just do it in 30 seconds right now? That it because the end picture looks really special.
Here's the end picture the tutorial guy came up with:

I fell in love with it at first sight because it reminded me of Up. If you read one of my previous posts, I had mentioned that it was my favorite movie. In fact, this is the wallpaper for the desktop of the computer I'm writing on:

My brother hates it. :P We're having a kinda...battle of the desktop wallpaper. Joseph puts up space stuff and I put up Up and smiley stuff. Hehe.

Other handy Blender stuff:

Blend Swap. On this you can download models that other people have made. It's good for people who want to focus on animating people, but they don't have the skill to make up one them self, or even for beginners that want to animate people or whatever.

Blender Guru  This is for people who have figured out blender, know how it works and don't know what to do. I am yet to try any of the tutorials on the site (I want to do this one at some point).

Have a great start to 2012 and let's all have an epic year! :D

Merry Christmas!

Hey everyone! :D I hope your Christmas is going as well as mine is.

Here's our Christmas tree:

There's also my brothers' lego shuttle he got for his birthday.
I did a lot of baking too.
I made cranberry sauce for a pie (the picture didn't work, I'll try again later).
pesto rolls,

Spiced apple icder which I heated up in a crock pot, and chocolate dipped pretzels.
I am a messy baker. :P
I was also going to make cinammon rolls, but we didn't have enough pasrtry.
Have a great time! :D

Snow, Ice, Wind and Rain All In a Week!

This week the weather has been freaky. It started off on Monday with a light sprinkle of snow which we slid on. It froze into ice on Tuesday and melted on Wednesday with the rain. On Thursday we had an AWFUL wind storm with record winds of something like 165 miles per hour in Fort William a couple hours away from where I live...
Storm pictures
UPDATE: Today (10.12.11) It snowed and is a winter wonderland. My brother and I made a snow fort and it is big and pretty awesome.
UPDATE:  (12.12.11) When we woke up on Saturday the place was covered in snow. Then on Sunday when we woke up it was all gone.  It is probably for the best....

I also found and resized a picture of Edinburgh, my favorite city, in the snow for my wallpaper.

Onto my drawing.
I always try to do one good picture a day. I always have this time of day where I sit in my room and draw for an hour. It is right after dinner at 7pm and I usually produce a decent picture. (definitely more now than I used to because a few days ago I started under drawing them. It really does make a difference!)

If you don't know who or what to draw take a look around you. What body language are the people in the room using. Are they slouching? Are they staring at something. When you get an idea quickly sketch them out with a light pencil and then get a darker one to make a less rough picture with hair, tables, etc. Then I started inking it and the outcome if you follow these steps is a lot better than if you just draw with no guides.

I find that I have a hard time drawing at any other time of day and it can be really hard for be because of that. I just want to sit and draw a half decent picture at 2pm and I CAN'T. Everyone looks like they're being mauled in '70s clothes.

Random stuff:

My favorite movie: Up.

Favorite color: blood red.

Favorite season: Christmastime. It is a lot different than just 'winter'.

Favorite hobby: drawing pictures of people, manga or plain cartoon style.

LEAST favorite food: porridge.

Favorite company: PIXAR! Muahahahahah!

Favorite sport: volleyball or soccer.

Favorite time: nighttime.

Thanks for reading! See you later!

Bring it on!

Hey everyone! Apparently it is supposed to snow this week! I guess there have been warning signs, like the temperature suddenly dropping below 0c (30f I think), frost hit us and it was really windy until yesterday and now there's no wind whatsoever.  So as long as snow doesn't make me cooped up in my house I'm fine with it. Anyway, the country is really well prepared this year. They made massive precautions so that it doesn't end up like last year. We ran out of grit fast and we had to use dirt instead. Whenever you saw brown powder on the ground it was heaven.  So this year we're prepared. Bring it on, mother weather!

On my brother's birthday I made him a cake  It was a Martha Stewart maple cake.
Here's a picture of it.

From a distance it looks like a pizza. Pizza cake!
It even went on fire. 'cuz it was so bad! :P

Sorry that it's the wrong way round - the computer is being lame.

Anyway it looked okay but it tasted AWFUL. Y'know why? Well 1. I forgot to cream the butter for the cake. 2. I didn't know what confectioners sugar was and I used CASTER sugar for the icing! Well, at least I'll never make those mistakes again any time soon. -sigh-
Today I might try making brownies!

I have a pair of cargo jeans that ripped in four places. I got so annoyed with it that two days ago I vowed that I'd never wear them again. So I ripped them just a tiny bit more.

In then end I ripped them so much that they're unrecognisable to jeans. it looked more like a weird cape....

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone! I hope you are having an amazing Thanksgiving and that everything is going spot on!

It is actually my brother's birthday today (what are the odds! :P)  and I'm going to make him a cake this afternoon. I'll post up the recipe after I make it, but it is a secret what it is ;).  I hope it will be in the oven by the time he gets home from school, but the reality is that I'm a very slow baker.
I had a tightly packed schedule but I had to tone it down. I was going to make the cake and put it in the oven, and then make peanut butter balls (I am definitely putting up the recipe for it closer to Christmas), and then while they are setting I was going to make peanut butter cookies, and when my brother got home we were going to make churros.
In the end it's just the cake. And maybe churros.  Oh well.

But man he wouldn't tell me a cake he wanted. Whenever I asked he said he didn't mind. BUT IT MAKES MY LIFE EASIER AND LESS RISKY!
Does everyone go through this? :3

I have to go to school now, so have an epicly awesome funtastic amazing happy thanksgiving! :D :D :D

It's Winter!

A couple days ago I breathed in the air and it smelled like winter (yes, to me winter has a smell). My hands got numbingly cold as they only do in the winter. So, from now on to me it's winter.
I was excited about it a couple of days ago, but yesterday I was playing football in the park after school with my friends and I'm usually not half bad but today I FAILED unepicly. It better not be because it's winter. I don't want it to be cold outside, just inside so I can snuggle up with a blanket and hot chocolate.

That was about a week ago. It was just cold that day. It has actually been unseasonably warm, June warm. And that's saying something. This time last year we were covered with snow, so Mother Weather must be making it up to us this year, or something. I'm really grateful, to say the least. And my parents might disagree but I think it's really warm at  night. But for some reason I'm only ever cold in the morning. :P
Lately the sun has been out and it hasn't been raining too much. The ground is always wet, but that's because it's really misty.
It has been misty for the last two weeks or so. It's great because when I'm playing in the park with my friends after school, my hair gets wet and curly and it isn't even raining!
I also like walking home from school in the sunset. It's very pretty to say the least. All those pinks, blues, a hint of green, a dream pallette for an artist.  I've been drawing like crazy, but more than 90% of the time I don't colour it. I draw manga and manga comics are left uncoloured unless you're getting a big fancy one.....

I am truly going through hyper-art-rainbow-crazy-amazing-hard-tiring-awesomeness time and I haven't been doing much else. I've found that music is more inspiring than reading other manga, surprisingly. Not saying that I never read it. I've got over half a shelf dedicated to my loved manga comics. I've got tons of learn how to draw manga books, only two of which I use :P

Today I watched a program that really made me think: will it snow?
I've been procrastinating the thought for a while, but should I really?
I mean for one it's beautiful. But on the other hand it's very hard to get out of the house.
I've come across very mixed opinions about it and to be honest, the only people who seem to be enjoying it are the kids! :P What I like most about snow is being able to sit inside with a warm mug of hot chocolate and watch the snow fall. It is awesome, literally. It looks as if life itself has stopped, the clocks have stopped ticking. Like nothing has existed for years and slowly it was forgotten, all apart from the little robins, occasionally sitting on the ground. But.....
SNOW DISRUPTS TRAVELING
 More schools closed
Snow Costs Lives
Cornwall's coldest winter ever recorded
University's coldest winter ever recorded
And so on. People died, most of them because of a road incident. It's astonishing and also slightly scary how much weather affects our regular lives. Even the small things, like whether you will have a hot chocolate because it's cold. It can also make bigger changes, like being stranded in a foreign country for who knows how long. 7,000 schools in the UK were closed on the 2nd of December alone, and I think we had 3 weeks of no going to school.  Then we only had a couple weeks until Christmas.
It's also hard to believe that it started dumping snow November last year. It may not seem like much, but that was a year ago. This time a year ago I was only a couple weeks away from either a trapped snow nightmare, or a winter wonderland paridise.  But lately it's been unseasonably warm( As I mentioned a week later) so I think it will snow, but not nearly as bad as it has done for the last few years.

Random thing of the week: The weirdest thing I have ever eaten is.......Raw squid! It tasted like aubergine /zuchinii.

See you later! :D

Nyssa's random post of the week: origami and wintertime

In my class it's been origami chaos. There are random origami penguins, bears, dogs, candy canes, owls, sumo wreslers, and lots more scattered around our class. It's actually pretty fun.
I've got some links from school that we use.....
http://web-japan.org/kidsweb/virtual/origami2/exploring01.html This site has origami projects and lots opf info about Japan, it's really useful.
http://en.origami-club.com/ This site's awesome. It has lots and lots of projects you can do and it's done in animation so it's way easier to do.
Check them out if you want to try it.  I used to hate it but I think it's very good fun now. We're always  doing it for art. I love art! <3
In almost all of the projects you start by getting the paper, folding it down the middle, opening it and fold it the opposite way. Carry on from there.

Wintertime.

Christmas time is my favorite time of the year. I adore the color schemes and as an amateur artist, there's little better than a good color match. Red and green is my personal favorite <3 I love PICTURES of snow. I think it is beautiful and mesmerizing but  last year it just scared everything I had out of me. It snowed. Turned into ice. Then kept snowing . So for a while it was a layer of snow-ice.  Then it all turned into ice. Kinda like this:

I decided to draw you another picture to finish off! I'll write more about Christmas-y stuff later.

P.S. I got four pictures and made them into a picture. I didn't take the pictures myself.

ATTENTION

Run Nyssa, run Nyssa, run run run.....

On Tuesday we went on a relay race. A kilometer of sprinting. It was ery hard, because we didn't run very much. I had only ran a kilometer once before, and not in a race.
Soo.....I have no idea what place I was in. There were 1000+ people there, and I was in the p-7 girl's team and I was the second to run out of the three on my team. It was so painful! Last time I ran a long distance all I was thinking was : I can't take it, but when I ran the relay I thought about not collapsing and: my body can't take it! At the very end you had to run up a steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep hill, which did NOT help. There's another one in spring, and I'd like to enter that because I'd be a lot fitter, and maybe it might even be easy. But only if I keep running in the winter. At least it'd keep me warm ;) I'm glad that I went to the cross countrey race. It was painful. It was like dying. But I represented my school and overtook a few people. I did OK! :)

This morning it was very cold. And very wet.  I'm sorry that this post isn't as interesting as the last, it doesn't have any comics.

The whole reason I wrote this wasn't to go in circles about running. It was to hint.
Something VERY exciting has happened.  I'll give you a hint: What to things start with P that can somehow associate one another? I'll tell'chya the answer in a few days!
P.S. It might even be lifechanging :D :D :D :D: :D :D: :D

Things that are a failz (comic)

Things that are a failz.
1.When you mistake someone for someone else.
The bit about the pie was me just filling in empty space.
Double failz. :P

2. When rainwater somehow DEFIES gravity and goes up into your nose.
My precious Gimp 2.6 was deleted because the computer broke a couple months ago. When I get Gimp again, my pictures will be a little better. I meant to draw like a four year old. That's just my computer style.
Bring out the creativity in those four year olds! :D

Blogging 'Bout Nothin'

Hey. I felt like I should try to write a longer post than usual and so here I am.
Blogging about nothing. I'm really thinking about changing my name because there are a LOT of Coffee Kids out there, apparrently.  Yeah. I'll change it. If it doesn't work out I'll change it again. The content'll be the same, but the URL and title will be different.

Hey mom. Remember this?  Hehe, we had another baking fail where we tried to make pies.
Never again. XD I am terrible at making savory food. I'm half decent at sweet now because we never forget the flour anymore but dinner? We've still got a long way to go.

Ever been to Paperchase? Best. Store. Ever. If I could spend a million pounds anywhere, it'd probably be there. Or Disneyworld. But they change their stock way to often. I miss the owl stuff. I've bought soo much in P:aperchase! From chopsticks to umbrellas, Backpacks to stickers. Fans to wrapping paper.  But I still don't have enough. <3 You can never have enough of Paperchase. Apparently they sell fountain pens there. I'll have to take a look.  I like fountain pens. They're awesome but the ink always goes onto the side of my hand.

I ate a pickle once in Disneyworld. I really did. Story of my life. XD

I am seriously going to change my (blog) name.

Random Awesome Blog?
Bloggin' about Nothing?
Chores And Nyssa Don't Mix?
Yeah, I'm just running through ideas so, I know some of them will be stupid.
Awesome?
Some Awesome Kid?
Drawing is Fun?
I need something that will sound good year round.
...I think I'll just stay. I'm going in circles. Meh.

I've just spent the last hour reading about bacon.
Awesome.

Anime festival!?

Apparently there's an anime festival in ________ and _________ near where I live. It's from the 7-9/ 14-16 of October. Now of course being me I had gotten very excited.  I found about it in Neo, a Japanese culture/manga magazine I read.  I am now on a quest to find out as much about it as possible. Maybe I can um....be excused from school on one of the days...he...he...If only. :P  Apparently there's supposed to be stuff about it on Scotland Loves Animation  but I've never been on the site.  I'll have to take a look at it later.

I do like anime as long as it's good anime. There's a surprisingly large amount of OK, ish and plain bad anime out there. For example, all Hayao Miazaki stuff is fine. He's amazing.  I haven't seen very many anime in my life (around five proper ones), but Studio Ghibi also can't go wrong. But watch out- animes of manga can be reeeeaaallllllyyyy badly animated. Especially ones that aren't know very well. Just a note to warn you. ^_^

Apparently according to the small column I'm reading, this is it's second year, filled with talks, guests, screenings, previews (tons of 'em), workshops, stalls and more. Sounds interesting :D

Next week we are going on a cross country cometition. 6 girls and 6 boys from my school are competing.  I'm one of them. Luckily today we went into towm and I got a new pair of running shoes because my favorite old shoes are litterally falling to pieces and when they got a big obvious hole in the toe, it was thrown away against my will.  Oh well. XD I'm wearing the new ones now (2o-somethingth of September)as I'm typing.
We've been practicing like crazy and today I've been giving my body a well needed break. Lets see what I'm doing for school on my birthday (the 28th of September). Wednesday morning: Probably some jogging practice, and spelling and math. Soccer/football for 15 minutes (actually I get piano for that amount of time on a Wednesday, so no football foe me). Hockey for two hours. Lunch for 15 minutes, football for 45. More jogging. Maybe planning for decorating our outdoor area.  It's tiring just thinking about it.

The Next Day
_____________

Hey everyone! 3 months 'till Christmas today! :D

P.S. t's supposed to snow in October ,but I don't think so.
P.P.S I wonder what would happen if it did!
P.P.P.S It's really warm now from some reason here so it's even more unlikely.
P.P.P.P.S. I like pie.
P.P.P.P.P.S.  Is it just me, or does Mickey Mouse not like onions?

The diffrence between UK Boys Scouts (with some girls) and Girl Guides

Hello people!

So I'm sitting here at 8:am on a weekday morning posting about girl guides and boy scouts. I'm pretty sure that I don't have a fever.

Anyway, I think girl guides are awesome.  Last week we tied knots with candy laces. Boy Scouts do it with rope.   We make models out of marshmallows, icing and chocolate sticks, they make them out of wood.
Boys Scouts are really missing out. We get the opportunity to go to Switzerland next year, and we are going to a concert called the Tartan Gig and last year they had Alesha Dixson (to be honest I have no idea who she is) and The Wanted. They're announcing who's starring it next year, but that's the standard they have.
I guess Girl Guides and Boy Scouts are for different types of people. I can't say that I'm a girly girl, but that doesn't stop me from Cross Stitching, making cookies and such. Boys do that too.  My brother adores Scouts, and I feel the same way for Guides.

I also like the variety of things there. Two weeks ago we did science stuff, and last week we did candy stuff. :3

Anyway, I gotta leave for school now. I'll post more later!

10 Years Ago Today the World Ended

I don't have much time to write, but I will post because this is a very important day in history. This day 10 years ago will be remembered with cold wariness forever.

It's been 10 years since the twin towers fell. Ten years since the pentagon was damaged. 10 years since the White house was almost hit. Over 2,000 people died today 10 years ago. Today is a day of silence.

Imagine, today 10 years ago. The people in New York City woke up thinking it was another day, a regular - maybe even boring day. Then this happened, and they thought the world was going to end.

8:46am the plane crashed into the North World Trading center.
9:03am the next plan crashed into the South World Trading Center.
9:37am: another plane was crashed into the Pentagon
Later that day they also tried to hijack another plane and crash it into the White House when the passengers realized and hijacked it from the hijackers and they sacrificed their lives for the President. They managed to crash into as field.

2,977 innocent people died.
More than 6,000 were injured. This isn't going to be a happy day, especially for those who can remember when it happened.

For many people tears will be shed. On this day, people will remember seeing the world end on their TVs, with nothing to do about it. This is the day the world ended.

The little things, and the big things too

Is it just me or do the little things make such the difference?
There are things that would be pretty sad to miss out on. Like the last bite of a waffle. Or a cookie. Or when ice cream turns into soup and you eat it up . If somebody took away your right to that, how would you feel?
For me there are lots of things that are just so nice, and yet so small and seemingly insignificant.
-Waking up  on a school day with a few more hours to sleep
--Sad songs on the radio
-People laughing at a joke I say
-When people smile at me
-Crying with happiness
-A new hat on a really cold day
-When your cold goes away and you can breathe
--laughing really hard with friends
-A warm drink on a cold day
-when people high five you
-getting into bed with clean sheets
-Getting a special smile just for you
-When people notice you're sad and cheer you up
-When people cheer you on when you're struggling
- Waking up and feeling refreshed
- Snuggling up with a book and a blanket on your couch
-Taking a really good picture on a camera
-Meeting someone new and automatically being friends with them
Those are just a few.
I've decided to put some of those into pictures.  Some of these will be big things that I love anyway.
-Waffles. These ones are super mini, and a bite worth. That's like, 10 whole last bites! :)
-Disney world at night. I just find it so startlingly beautiful, it fills my eyes with tears somehow.
Random little cute things. :3

Also, I'm going away to a adventure camp school tripimagig for a week, so if you send me any emails, I won't be able to reply. I'm leaving on Monday morning and getting back some time Friday.
See you then! :D

The Duck Song! :D

This is the awesomest song ever! It's my favorite, just if anyone was asking. I might put on the second one some other time, but it's not as good as the first once, and the third isn't as good as the second. But I promise, this song will be stuck in your head for a long time. But it's totally worth it :D

If it's popular I'll update it with the lyrics :)

I remember- Chapter 1 (a story)

'Do you still remember what happened?' Nola asks me. I sit down on the school steps and stare at my bag.
'Yes. Yes, I do. You know I do. So why are you talking about it?'  I look up at her. She looks uncomfortable.
'Well, I dunno, I was just wondering. Sheesh!' She walks away to talk to her best friend, Stephanie.
I remember, I remember everything that happened. I don't want to, but I do.  Nola was there. She knew what was going on and yet did nothing about it.  It was the same for Mandy.  Except she didn't want to do anything. In truth I don't know about Nola. She is super popular and that's partly because she seems nice. But she convinces you to tell your secrets, and silently spreads them. And you don't know that she did unless she says she did. But Mandy, she is a bad case. She has many friends, but she hurts people. She calls 000 for fun. And we're not even in Australia.  She already has a record at the ago of 12, and gloats about it. Having a criminal record just over a decade of having existed is nothing so gloat about. She has little reason to.  I do not tell anyone what she does to people because I know when she's older, fate will lie it's bony hand on her head, and grasp it. But Mandy isn't the reason for what happened. She was just a witness. I didn't do anything, but not just anything happened to me. Something big had happened. Something bad.
After what had happened time slowed almost to a standstill, words became knifes for other people to use. Not everyone can see the depths of what can go on, in or close outside of school, friends' houses, etc. Some say what happened was bullying. Others, a joke. Both seemed minor to me. I call it verbal murder.  It wasn't what they said. It was the people, especially one, who said it. That is how I sum it all up. If that was somehow possible. But that gut feeling I still have is tearing me apart, still making every shallow breath a painful one. I haven't seen them in more than a month. But today I am suddenly trapped with them. And I will be for a year.  I feel guilt having done nothing. Pain and yet  have no grazes. Scars, and yet have never had a wound as deep as the one I can feel so far down. Everything that had happened before, all the happy memories pierce my heart and make lonely tears prick my eyes when I think of them.
After the incident I started walking alone, trusting no one. It is better to trust no one than to be gullible and get hurt. I sit alone at lunch now...And yet still I don't want to forget. Because if I forgot, I'd forget what had happened before. I can't let one bad incident change my life like this, I always tell myself that.
All that had happened before, those happy smiles, the warm laughter.
I remember......
______________________________________________________________________________

Hey people! I hope you liked it so far. I'd write more, but I'm going to make a recipe. I'll tell you how it ends out! :3

Though news be sad, yet tell them merrily;
If good, thou shamest the music of sweet news
By playing it to me with so sour a face. -Shakespeare

Even in laughter the heart is sad, and the end of joy is grief. - Anon

Those two quotes sound fitting for my story. :)

Nyssa's guide on how to do: Healthy Apple Treat (is super quick to make)

Ingredients: 1 large apple, 1/4 cup peanut butter, 1 tablespoon of honey, 3 spoon fulls of your favourite dried fruit (optional), and granola.

1. Core the apple with an apple core of a sharp knife.
2. In a (small) bowl, combine the peanut butter, honey, and the dried fruit (raisins work well)
3. Stuff the mixture into the cored apple.
4. Sprinkle the granola on the top.

Tada! Super quick, super easy, super simple, and best of all, super tasty ;)
Thanks for reading!

UPDATE: Sorry for the *terrifyingly* bad spelling! I'll start editing my work from now on, :)

School uniform and what I think of them

School uniform. Two seemingly regular words. But what images flash into your mind when you think of them? Do you think of smart children walking in a neat pristine line? Or dull grewy skies, where children 'play' on the schoolground, in dull clothes to match the weather? For me I think of disipline. Pro? White and black clothing only. Con.
But I've only just scratched the surface.......

School uniform: Pros
Can disipline children.
2.There is (supposed to be) no diffrence to what the wealthy and er....not so wealthy wear.
3. It leaves children to think more of their work than what they're wearing.

Now for the easy part. Let me warn you beforehand, that I am a firm disbeliever in school uniforms.

School uniform: Cons

1.There isn't any individuality at all, all you have are black bottoms, white tops, grey sweaters.

2. You can't really express yourself in uniform. You can't wear an anti-rasicm t-shirt to school, and if you want to show how much you love a certain hue of red, and you want to show your friends what you mean, I know it's a very small limitation, but there still is dissapoitment

3. It can actually make students feel kinda 'blue' (grey more like) and it makes school a less colourful place to be.

4.This kinda adds to the individualitism, but it can kinda open up a world of people, in a way. There may be the kids with t-shirts with expressive quotes, the kids who always wear their favourite sneakers, the kids who wear bright colours and wear homemade accesories, but that's the kids who don't wear uniforms. The kids who do sit on the step thinking about them and wish they were in their situation.

These are just a few of my reasons. There was a poll with me and some friends over the internet and here are the results so far:

20.29% Wear uniforms and like them,
28.99% Wear uniforms and do not like them,
1.45% Have strict dress codes and like it
10.14% Have strict dress code and dislike it
24.64% Have standard dress code and like them,
2.90% Have standard dress code and dislike it
And 11.59% are homeschooled.

I enjoy writing about this topic, s I think I might continue, but now it is my duty to go get lunch! :3

Scrapbooking and Whoppers, and a video

In the last couple months I have taken up scrapbooking. I don't know why, but I get some strange thrill from cutting out pictures I like, but the problem is that I don't have any scrapbooking paper (which I will buy soon) to stick the pictures in. I am also making a collage from US candy wrappers :) it's fun!
Most of my pictures come from hair magazines, and maybe a couple from some others. I am so strang,e I hate cutting close to the edges, but if I can cut as close or as far as I want, it suddenly becomes really fun....?

We're hunting for a recipie with Whopper (chocolate malt balls) in them, but no luck. Even when I just searched 'Chocolate malt balls', or plain 'malt balls', all I got were to recipies with hocolate malt powder, so we'll keep searching. Or just eat them :) Maybe Whopper cookies? That would be freaky, but it's exciting - well, as exciting as making cookies can be. The exciting part is eating them. I have such a hard time not eating the whole batch of cookie dough (even though there are eggs), so at some point I'm just goint to make plain eggless cookie dough to snack on :)

And here is the video, as promised.  Never is a Promise, it's my favourite Fiona Apple song <3 A real 'classic' too!

Must have.....Internet candy! (with unrelated video)

So I was eating lunch, and we had something super special....four whole triscuts! -sigh-, Internet candy is getting a whole lot more expensive. £/$1.23 for a pack of my beloved Jolly Ranchers? £2.42 for Cookie dough bites? That's more than I get per week! 4 and a half dollars....for some poptarts!? That's crazy! Do you pay 3;29 for marshmallow fluff?  Wow, there's rasberry and strawberry kind! That sounds interesting.
Anyway, I was eating linch and mom had recently done one of her maaggicccaaallll Cybercandy  orders, so we had an open box of Triscuts. As this is really, really rare, I asked if I could have a handfull. I had forgotten how amazing they were until I was sitting at the living room table, crying while eating.....Fake tofu fish sticks?:P
And we also had some Jolly Rancher 'screaming sours', which were essentially sour patch. Joseph has a new favourite food because of that, too. OhMyGosh....they have...they have....Resses peanutbutter cereal!? That is so amazing! I really have been missing out on stuff like this.  Rainbow twizzlers?
-sniff-, wow, there are some amazing products out there. The website has some really fun stuff, though. Oreo Icecream, I've always dreamed of the day it would really happen! Sorry, I'm just browsing through the website and writing at the same time. Wow, Swedish fish! I love sweedish fish! Lucky charms! I've never eaten them. Ever.  I just went to the bathroom, and when I just came back Joseph had lootttssss of food links. Lets see what they are, shall we?
1.Reeses crispy cups
2. A mario energy drink,
3. Mario star mints,
4.Zelda mints,
5.Jelly Belly 50 flavours box (he never changes, does he? ;) )
6. Sour Jelly bellies
7. And then I came back and we started looking at root beer.
Hey, Wonka Toffee Apple bars! I remember they tried selling them here for a couple of months, and then stopped. Please stay for a cup of British tea! Wow, 2.80 for a lolipop with a big in it! Okay....I am definitely going to buy something with my allowance here, I must ;) Though there was another one that mom mentioned. It might be cheaper, so I'll ask about it. They...they....they have just plain (cereal) marshmallows, with no cereal at all? Wow, that's amazing. So, so amazing. A piece of art! It's so easy to talk for a long time about candy, but I'll try to put something in at the end :)
Or now. Here's a cute Fiona Apple video I like. Before I saw it, I thouht she's be lying on a hill at night, 'staring at the sky, just looking for a star' :

It's wau easier to put videos on here, than on Wordpress. I tried on it a couple times....and failed. Well, I hope you enjoyed today's Random Story of The Day! ;)

p.s. I have decided that I will probably change my themes most days to go with how I'm feeling :)

A short post about a conversation Joseph and I had

I don't know why, but I promised to post about this.
Joseph and I were making pb and j sanwiches, and I looked into the peanutbutter jar. We had gotten it only a couple days ago, and yet it was half gone (my fault ;) ).
Me: Oh, the peanutbutter's half empty.
Joseph: You may think so, but to me it's half full.
Such. An .Awesome thing to say!  There you go, optimism in a peanutbutter jar! :D It's raining reeeaaaalllyyy hard outside. My kid instinct it telling me to go outside and play in the mud. Maybe after this.

I was super-excited about the fishes (it's on the right sidebar). They are really awesome, and I love them! <3 Maybe it's because all the fish I've ever had always die really quickly..... It's probably my cats :P!

Hello everyone! :)

Hey everybody! Welcome to my new and improved blog, Coffee Kid! Last night I was searching really hard for name ideas, because I'm terrible at the kinda thing. Here are some I came up with before Coffee Kid hit me:

Red and Black,
Everything is There,
Green and Red
WDPL: Writing. Drawing. People. Life,
TooMany______ (blank)
Not Enough Cookies
No Yucky Soup Samurais allowed!
Nothing you Super Samurai Animal
Paint, Pencil, Penicillin,
I'll tell you when you're older (ITYWYO),
Glass Half full

Then I went to bed, and I was hit by a wave of insomnia, and I was trying to sleep when it hit me: The Coffee Kid! I rushed out of bed to write it down.  I decided to use it because 1. It's easy to remember, 2. It's not immature or anything like that, 3. I won't suddenly hate it, like I did the name Nyssalove (I used it all the time up until I turned 10-ish), 4. Even though my personality changes, I have and always will like coffee, 5. It is original, and yet fresh, and 6: it's easy to form a site theme around it. It will change, I promise it will. And it won't be about coffee forever. There's some REALLY pretty ones I found on this website. If you have a blogger blog and you need some awesome themes to download, go here, and no where else. Go here if you have a Wordpress blog, but the themes are too boring for you. And go here if you want a reasonably simple theme for Blogger, and yet something attention grabbing and sweet (Warning: Is girly and quite simple for those who like a complicated flair).

I am prepared to spend quite a while experimenting with this, getting widgets up and running, making polls, changing columns, etc.

I hope you enjoy my new blog as much as I do, and thank you so much for reading! I'd be nothing without the inspiration I get from supporting family and friends, I really appreciate your kindness :D

Now lemme see everything this hoster can do! :D
